The Association of Lithuanian automobilists

History of the Association of Lithuanian Automobilists (Lithuanian abbreviation LAS) starts as early as in the year 1974, when the Society of Lithuanian Drivers Amateurs (LAUDA) was established.

In the year 1989, LAUDA was reorganized into the Association of Lithuanian Automobilists (LAS).

LAS is the largest public organization engaged in protection of interests of automobilists: at present, it unites clubs of 14 towns and districts of Lithuania and the number of its members exceeds several thousands. LAS keeps close relations with clubs of automobilists from Latvia, Estonia, Czechia, Hungary... It always takes part in events arranged by FIA (International Federation of Automobilists) and AIT (International Tourism Alliance) and is a member of the said organizations since the year 1992.

The principal and most important task of the Association is care of the traffic safety and high culture of the traffic participants. Roadside assistance, discount and benefit programs and tourism services are also offered for Lithuanian and foreign customers.
